Plating Options

Gold, Silver, Bronze, Antique Style Pins and More

Standard plating options are Gold, Silver, Nickel, Copper and Black Nickel offered at no extra charge. Alternative finishing options are Antique Gold, Antique Silver, Antique Copper or Antique Bronze.

When choosing an appropriate plating option, keep in mind the colors that are being used in your design. Gold, Silver and Nickel work well with darker colors because these are lighter colored metals that can get lost or blend with light enamel colors.  Black Nickel works best with lighter colors because the black “pops” more against a yellow enamel color than it would against a dark blue enamel color. Your Pinnacle Pins design consultant will work with you to ensure the proper plating option works well with you design or logo.

Die Struck lapel pins are the most popular pins to plate as antiqued. This antiquing allows for more contrast between the raised metal and the recessed metal, allowing for smaller details and more definition in the pin design.  If you want a Die Struck pin with standard plating, please keep in mind that sometimes small text is hard to read with a shinny plating option.

Pinnacle Pins offers two-tone plating (gold and silver) on any pin type. By selecting the two-tone plating option, you can create a unique custom pin that will really enhance the value and look.

Each order includes a single plating choice, but if you would like to divide your order to consist of various plating options to differentiate different levels of achievement, recognition, sales, groups or any other category, we can accommodate your needs. Just let us know. There are typically no additional fees required for additional standard plating options.
